Wow. It’s finally been found on YouTube… faster than I could convert the VHS copy to digital format. The Limara TV advert, famous for the animated girl and the soundtrack by Stevie Vann Lang. Thanks to a post from ‘Lisle’ on the original blog post here, and the wonders of Snapz Pro 2 (Mac only), here is a version of the advert. It is a reduced length, but you’ll get the idea!

I had my daughter in Dec 1981. We were going through a list of names but couldn’t agree on one when the “LIMARA” advert came on………that was it and we agreed to call our baby Limara should it be a girl. Twenty eight years later………. Can anyone go back further than that?
I was working in radio in ’81 this came out as a single, I don’t think it did anything chart wise, another one from the same era was The young and moody band – these eyes (levis) featuring Lemmey from motorhead and one of the nolan sisters
I can beat it Sue 🙂 – well only by a few months, my mum picked Limara as my middle name, I was born July ’81 hee hee I’ve always loved how unique it is and my mum told me where she got the name when I was very young but I never saw the advert (until now) or even the body spray in real life….I wonder if anywhere still sells it? I’d love one…wonder what it smells like?
